Havana in time
Year 1543
-OCTOBER 31.- Another French corsair Jean Francois de la Roque de Roberval attacked Havana again with five ships. It disembarks several hundred arquebusiers in the San Lázaro cove. The Havana militias ambushed the invaders and made them re-embark. They caused more than 20 casualties.
Year 1545
- In the minutes of the Cabildo reference was made to the need for an aqueduct for Havana.
The Aqueduct of Havana, known as Zanja Real, was the first to be built in Cuba, promoted in 1545 by Juan de Rojas, the richest neighbor of the town, and the patronage of Governor Juanes Davila.
