A few months after the celebration of the half-millennium of the Villa de San Cristóbal, on November 16, work is practiced on practically all the works that will be inaugurated on the occasion of the date.

Luis Carlos Góngora Domínguez, vice president of the Administration Council (CAP) that attends the programs of the 500th anniversary of the city, commented that in the boulevard of San Rafael, one of the main projects due to its comprehensive character, actions are developed in the five blocks that will be dedicated to shops and the cultural market.

He affirmed that great figures of culture participate in its transformation, and in addition, the conversion of services will be ensured.

In this area, the projects associated with the Cuban Fund of Cultural Assets advance, while the Caribbean Chain of Shops (TRD) undertakes repairs in its two units in the area and CIMEX Corporation in its eight centers.

Works of monumental lighting of the buildings and ornamentation are also carried out, he said.

About Chinatown, which became one of the largest in Latin America, reported that the works associated with the technical networks have been completed and there are about 15 projects in operation.

This symbolic space of the city is the object of an integral resuscitation for the 500 years of Havana, and its main quadrant will again be an adocreto as in its foundational era, he said.

We have conceived a new design for the knife of the Chinatown, in which an important group of phenomena associated with that public space is aesthetically modified, and a central plaza that will emerge as the cultural center of the area is being worked on, said Góngora Domínguez.

In this area, located in the capital city of Centro Habana, urban rehabilitation will include the arrangement of street lighting, sidewalks, parks and streets; the paving of roads and the elimination of electrical and communication cables exposed on the facades.

Ancient Chinese traditions will also be rescued, including culinary art, ceramics and the typical decoration of its facilities, and facilities such as the Chinese newspaper Kwong-Wah-Po, dry cleaners and pharmacies with their traditional medicine will be rehabilitated .

In the case of Galiano Avenue, explained Góngora Domínguez, a different stage is carried out with the participation of students from the Technological University of Havana José Antonio Echeverría.

The idea is to continue the recovery of facilities and make decisions in places where there have been landslides, he said.

The actions, according to the vice-president of the CAP, will also impact in the Park of the Fraternity, the streets Monte and Reina.
