The gardens of the tropical
As part of the transformations that take place in commemoration of the 500th anniversary of the Capital, a project is underway for the restoration of the Jardines de la Tropical.
It will have the participation of institutions such as ENPA, OBE and Hydraulic Resources, DCH, and RESTAURA.
The project proposes the recovery of all spaces except for Cafeteria No 2 (which will be demolished due to incompatibilities with the land). The demolition of all the roofs solved with a system of metal beams and slabs is planned.
It has been determined the recovery of the 3 essential accesses, in addition to the pedestrian path that connects the site with 94c street. The existing parking area will be expanded and linked to the housing area.
At the moment, new works are being designed and the aim is to adapt the urban furniture, having as main line the integration of architecture with nature.
As immediate actions are the cleaning and collection of all areas, the exploration of external networks (Hydrosanitary and Electrical); the resuscitation of the Calzada de Puentes Grandes and Calle Rizo, as well as the entrance sign to the gardens. It is also planned to review the areas on the river bank that present scour due to flooding, and therefore an analysis of the land for the subsequent solution of the problem.
