Remarkable symbol of Havana and one of the great buildings of Cuba. It was built in only three years and 50 days under the direction of the architect Eugenio Raynieri Piedra, and it was inaugurated in 1929. It occupies a built area of 13 484 m2 and 26,391 m2 of gardens designed by the French urbanist Jean Claude Forestier. It was declared a National Monument by Resolution 04 of November 15, 2010. It is currently undergoing an important restoration by the Office of the Historian of the City.
