Rafael Acosta de Arriba, outstanding Cuban poet, essayist, researcher and academic. Doctor in Historical Sciences and Doctor in Sciences, received the past 23 of January of 2019, of hands of Alpidio Alonso Grau, Minister of Culture the National Prize of Cultural Investigation by the work of all the life. Important personalities, artists and researchers participated in the ceremony, among them Dr. Eusebio Leal Spencer Historian of Havana and Fernando González Llort, President of ICAP.
Graduated from the Instituto Pedagógico Enrique José Varona in the specialty of Mathematics. He served as head of publications and restoration of the National Library José Martí and editor of the magazine of that institution. He directed the Cinematographic Information Center of the Cuban Institute of Cinematographic Art and Industry and was the editor of the Cine Cubano magazine.
He was director of magazines such as Cuban Cinema, Cuban Art and the National Library. He has published more than 20 articles in specialized media both nationally and internationally. He is currently a researcher at the Juan Marinello Cuban Culture Research Institute. He was awarded the Reason for Being Award.
He is a member of the UNEAC, of the Union of Historians of Cuba and of the Cuban Association of the Cinematic Press. He was president of the National Council of Plastic Arts of the Ministry of Culture and director of the magazine Arte Cubano.
