Torres Irríbar acknowledged that while there are still deficiencies in the economic and social order, we work to continue advancing and modernizing our institutions until Havana is a place of cultural and human growth.

This year, when Havana arrives on its 500th birthday, it is necessary for each capitalist to commit to doing the greatest thing for her, said the First Secretary of the Party in the Province, Luis Antonio Torres Irríbar.

This moment, he said, must be a principle to do, transform and love the capital in its proper dimension, hence the call to keep it clean, orderly and beautiful.

He also a member of the Central Committee stressed that, coincidentally with the celebration, our country is living a momentous stage when voting on February 24 for the new Constitution, a document that without a doubt will receive the overwhelming support of the people of Havana, he said.

To give the YES for this Magna Carta means, he said, to defend the interests not only of Cubans, but also the honor and hope of the fraternal peoples of the third world and of Latin America and the Caribbean.
