Dr. Ruben Garcia Lopez de Villavicencio, director of that institution, said
that in 2018 that health center also increased the number of
consultations and field visits, and ended without transmission of arboviruses
by vectors.

Declared by UNICEF as the first polyclinic in the country Amigo del Niño and
of the Mother, the "Plaza de la Revolución", where they were trained in
1987 the first specialists in Integral General Medicine, also
is a national reference center for reproductive health and planning
family.

Currently and as part of the transformations of the sector in the
primary health care, a Basic Healthcare Group was reorganized
I work with 16 Doctor's and Family Nurse's Offices and a
total of 15 services.

At the same time it provides 21 medical specialties in the
community projection that carry out their interconsultative activities,
teachers and assistance.

The institution of health was declared an Institution of Science and Innovation
Technological, and has coverage for more than 16 thousand inhabitants of the Councils
Popular of Plaza, and Príncipe, as well as five clinics of the Cerro municipality.
