The Thirty First International Meeting of the Audiovisual Universe Network of Latin American and Caribbean Children (UNIAL Network) will take place in the Cuban capital from December 3 to 6.
The event, which is part of the prelude to the International Festival of New Latin American Cinema, aims to connect the new generations with audiovisual production, according to the Prensa Latina news agency.
Eileen Sanabria, coordinator of the UNIAL Network, said the meeting will make it possible to connect children with audiovisual productions, both in recognized venues such as festivals and other alternative presentations in communities and schools.
The Cuban Institute of Cultural Research Juan Marinello sponsors this meeting annually, which in this edition will focus on the axes of dissemination and production of more interactive materials.
Children and adolescents from various Cuban provinces will participate in the event, coming from audiovisual projects such as Rodando fantasías, from Villa Clara; Carousel of images, from Pinar del Rio, and La espiral, from the Office of the Historian of Havana.
Jointly, several workshops and work tables will be held, which will provide a space for dialogue, exchange and the creation of joint projects with the participation of specialists from several countries.
The meeting will also have a sample of audiovisual materials of recent production, made by and for children and adolescents from community, school, university and institutional initiatives.
The main seats of the meeting in the capital of all Cubans include the Jose Marti International Journalism Institute, the Association of Pedagogues of Cuba and the Cuban Association of the United Nations.
