In an article titled What would be the greatest thing for Havana? With regard to its transit towards the half millennium, the Cuban intellectual and blogger Iroel Sánchez explains that, beyond what the capital needs materially, and of all the effort to resolve its deteriorating situation, a profound cultural transformation is urgent.
This transformation must reverse the way in which a minority has come in recent years imposing selfish behaviors that undermine the common good.
Quote Iroel Sanchez in his article some negative examples that should not occur, as some sources take the marbles and throw water a day and another, no luminaires and vandalized parks, garbage containers without wheels, and caps and televisions in facilities gastronomic and health that, far from promoting culture and healthy lifestyles, disseminate materials of the worst taste.
Later in his article, what would be the biggest thing in Havana? Iroel Sánchez points out that investing in material solutions, without investing in communication to stimulate the proper functioning and conservation of the city is like the saying bread for today and hunger for tomorrow.
He adds that a popular debate is needed as diffusion and consensus-building around the little known norms to punish aggressions against the common.
Does anyone know how many fines are imposed for damaging the city's environment, how much is its value? Would it be useful, he notes, that each container carries the information related to it and the way by which the debris evacuation can be coordinated before they flood a corner?
Indicate that Communicate is also that the counter of an agromercado is not the seat or the place for the feet of the dependents.
Iroel Sanchez cites other negative examples that spoil the effort to reach the 500 years of Havana, as the box of a store ceases to be the stage to air aloud the worst rudeness.
Ask if it is very difficult to put a sticker on the urban buses that indicate that they are not the stage to impose musical tastes.
He explained that the school can contribute a lot to the good functioning of the community facilities.
Using communication as a fundamental weapon, together with the capacity and attitude to render an account, the debate and permanent dialogue with the people are pillars defined by Miguel Díaz-Canel.
The director of the blog La Pupila Asombrada, says that the works in the capital will not be successful, if they do not manage to involve the people.
A cultural transformation Perhaps that is the most arduous, and also the greatest, that could be done for the 500 years of Havana, he said.
