"La Habana Insurrecta" is the title of a booklet that compiles 60 stories of fighters about the clandestine struggle against the dictator Fulgencio Batista, and presented this Thursday in the capital of all Cubans.

Julio Damaso Velazquez, who shares the authorship of the text with José Alfredo Garcia Bertrand, explained to the Cuban News Agency that the material arose because little is known about the insurrectionary history of Havana and, nevertheless, several of the largest actions occurred. of the time.

Also, the activist in the Documentary Fund of the Association of Combatants of the Cuban Revolution (ACRC) reported that the document is a message for the people and especially for the new generations, who can know in their pages about life and work of those boys of his age who sacrificed everything they had for the revolutionary cause.

Pedro Garcia, journalist historian of Bohemia magazine, who narrates one of the stories in the brochure, declared that this is a very enlightening book, which involved combatants, historical witnesses, professors and students of the University of Havana.

La Habana Insurrecta is also a tribute to the 25th anniversary of the ACRC, which will be celebrated on December 7, as well as the 500 anniversary of the Cuban capital, 60 of the triumph of the Revolution and 150 of the beginning of the struggle for independence. .
