Lizt Alfonso, director of the dance company that bears her name, was included in the selection for her important work as an ambassador of Cuban culture, which she has performed in shows in hundreds of cities around the world.
Cuban writer Isabel Allende, Peruvian lawyer Cindy Arlette Contreras, Nigerian Abisoye Ajayi-Akinfolarin, and British Paralympic athlete Liz Johnson are on the list.

The selection of 2018 includes females aged between 15 and 94, from 60 countries, chosen based on their contributions in different areas, ranging from politics to sports and culture, either "as leaders, pioneers and everyday heroines. "
The choreographer is founder and director of the company Lizt Alfonso Danza Cuba, a group that since its creation in 1990 has been acclaimed in America, Asia, Europe and Africa.
The fusion of elements of flamenco, ballet, contemporary dance, folklore and dissimilar popular dances characterizes the staging of the company, work for which Alfonso received, among others, the DORA International Prize in Toronto, Canada, at the Best Choreography of a Musical for his show "Vida".
Recognized also for the formation of values from an early age, the Cuban choreographer is also a Goodwill Ambassador for UNICEF.
