The company Acosta Danza, founded and directed by First Dancer Carlos Acosta, will present its Season "Destinations" at the Gran Teatro de La Habana Alicia Alonso, on November 30, December 1 and 2.
The program of these functions will be composed of two works that describe the company's trajectory, reports Lester Vila Pereira, press director of the group.
He adds that the public that attends the Prado Coliseum will be able to enjoy the replacement of the Carmen ballet, original creation of Carlos Acosta, inspired by the homonymous novel by the Frenchman Prosper Mérimée.
This work, which tells the tragic love story between a gypsy and a soldier, uses the music created by Georges Bizet, the costume design of Tim Hatley and the lights of Peter Munford.
He will also return to the Satori scene, a show created by Raúl Reinoso that narrates an inner journey towards spiritual enlightenment. The music of this choreography is an original score by Pepe Gavilondo. The piece has costumes and decorations by the curatorial designer Angelo Alberto and lights by the Italian artist Fabiana Piccioli.
Since its stage debut, Acosta Danza has the objective of performing dance performances in full accordance with the most current notions that are developed in the world, not only in the matter of the movement of bodies but in everything related to the scene.
The company is defined as a space for renewal, search and experimentation, not only for Cuban artists, but also opens doors to the creators of the world, choreographers, musicians, designers, artists of visual arts and audiovisuals. His choreographic repertoire includes titles of Carlos Acosta, Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui, Justin Peck, Maria Rovira, Marianela Boan, Goyo Montero, Saburo Teshigawara, Pontus Lidberg, Christopher Bruce, Jorge Crecis, among others.
Tickets for the Season Destinations will be on sale starting Tuesday, November 27, at nine in the morning, at the box office of the Gran Teatro de La Habana, according to Lester Vila Pererira, press director
