The inauguration of a home for children without filial protection and the execution of total or partial construction work in 421 schools are some of the works with which the Ministry of Education (Mined) accompanies the action plan foreseen for the 500th anniversary of La Havana.

When there are only hours left for the 499 birthday of the town of San Cristobal de La Habana, Víctor Basso Valdés, deputy director of investments of the Directorate of Provincial Education, said that this November 16 will be inaugurated in the municipality of Diez de Octubre the new facility with capacity for approximately 25 children, and that in this territory the children's circle Osvaldo Rafael Sánchez also received a capital rehabilitation.

With particular satisfaction he offered details of the repair undertaken in the special school Solidaridad con Panamá, one of the 27 centers of this type completed in the current year.

According to the manager, in this entity the entire roof was waterproofed, electrical, sanitary repair was made of the shelters, the gymnasium, which will be benefited with new equipment for the attention of the children.

"The basketball court and the 100-meter track were rebuilt, the dining room furniture was changed and the multi-purpose room was completed. We have improved the constructive conditions of the infirmary, the exterior lighting and the columns and plateaus of the dining room are being dressed with marble, "he said.

The Tío Ho primary school in the Playa municipality also shows a rejuvenated image: it has a perimeter fence and new school furniture, as well as a renovated computer lab.

In greeting the half century of the capital of the Cubans and the 60th anniversary of the Revolution, the Mined must start 2019 with another 100 rehabilitated educational facilities. To this task is added the inauguration in that year of a technological park with 16 first class rooms for children in the so-called Finca de Los Monos, located in the municipality of El Cerro.
