Presentations by Patricio Amaro, El Niño and La Verdad, Caribe Girls, Cubaneo, Latin Kiuban Boys and more than 70 activities in the eight popular councils reserve the XLII Week of Culture of the Plaza to be held from March 15 to 21 in this municipality Habanero, Harold Vergara, director of culture in the territory, told a press conference.

Vergara explained that the event has been conceived to meet the needs of all age groups that live or visit Plaza de la Revolución, and that each commemoration will be designed for the place and the public in which it will take place.

In this sense, an integrator program of activities has been designed that also includes exhibitions of plastic arts, theatrical presentations, dance, literary clubs, as well as events for children in various institutions of the municipality.

For his part, Arnaldo Díaz, artistic director of this Week, announced that the official opening will be on March 15 at the José Martí Memorial, in which the Mariana de Gonicht Academy will participate. "That same day, he said, at six o'clock in the afternoon in the parking lot of the Coppelia ice cream shop, the company Paso a Paso, artists belonging to the National Improvised Verse Center, Vania Borges and Yoruba Andabo will be presented."

Among the core activities is the territorial symposium of cultural studies of the Revolution Square, which includes the municipal science and technology forum, which will be chaired by Avelino Couceiro Rodríguez, senior researcher at the Ministry of Culture and the Academy of Sciences of Cuba, to whom this day is also dedicated.

For the 20th, a meeting of personalities will be held at Casa Balear, where they will pay homage to various institutions and personalities from the cultural scene, such as the Cuban Institute of Cinematographic Art and Industry, the Amigos de la Aguja project, Nilda Collado, Aurora Pita and the Acting Agency.

The program will close with a closing gala that will consist of a great concert, by El Niño and the Truth, whose stage will be Lombillo and Final Street, starting at 18:00 (local time).

The Week of Culture of Plaza is held to coincide with the founding anniversary of the Cultural Society Our Time that emerged on March 21, 1951 consisting of narrators, poets, painters, musicians, dancers, filmmakers, researchers, who represented the avant-garde Cuban artistic of the time.
