Vice President of the National Assembly welcomes veteran internationalists from Russia

Havana, Mar 6 (ACN) Ana María Mari Machado, vice president of the National Assembly of People's Power (ANPP), received a delegation of internationalist veterans from the Russian Federation, led by Vitaly Karpenko, at the Capitol in Havana today. President of the Friendship Group with Cuba within the organization that they are part of.

During the meeting, in which Yolanda Ferrer Gómez, president of the International Relations Commission of the ANPP, also participated, both parties recalled the historical, strategic and cooperation relations that unite both countries, and were confident that they will continue to consolidate.

The vice president of the Cuban Parliament informed the visitors about the results of the constitutional referendum that took place on February 24 of this year, in which the new Magna Carta of the Republic was ratified, with 86, 85% of the votes.

He also said that the voting process was a resounding success, and highlighted the massive participation of Cubans, as more than 90% of the voters went to the polls.

Mari Machado also referred to the intense legislative work that the National Assembly will have in the coming months, to comply with everything established in the Law of Laws.

Both sides exchanged on current international issues, and in that sense they referred to the situation facing the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, and condemned the coup attempts to overthrow the legitimate government of President Nicolás Maduro.

At the end of the exchange, Vitaly Karpenko gave both deputies the medal conferred by the veterans of the Russian war.
