Havana, Mar 4 (ACN) Inés María Chapman, Vice President of the Councils of State and Ministers, toured the areas where Palatino-Prado-Malecón is being built, an investment that will benefit more than 91,000 Habaneros.
The vice president reiterated in his profile on the social network Twitter that it is a project that covers more than nine kilometers and will improve the water supply to the municipality of Old Havana.
He noted that the work includes workers from the National Institute of Hydraulic Resources (INRH) and the Ministry of Construction, and that they work with emphasis on organization and quality.
Antonio Rodríguez, president of INRH, also referred today in his profile in this social network to the check of the actions, which will also satisfy the demand of the tourist facilities of Old Havana.
In previous days Rodriguez said that, to ensure the quality in the construction of the driver, the appropriate equipment is used.
Esther García, technical director of the company Aguas de La Habana, explained in a meeting with the press that this area of the city receives water with low pressure, with discontinuous and insufficient service, which is why the project was approved .
The alternative will also allow the formation of hydrometric sectors and, from the measurement, billing and management thereof, reduce losses in conductors, networks and inside homes, he said.
According to the specialist currently more than eight thousand 600 people receive the precious liquid through tankers, which leads to the realization of more than 800 trips per week.
In the execution of the work, scheduled to be completed in September, brigades of the company Aguas de La Habana also participate.
