Havana shows results in essential economic indicators
With the presence of Esteban Lazo Hernández, president of the Cuban Parliament and member of the Political Bureau, the Sixth ordinary session of the Provincial Assembly of the Popular Power of Havana analyzed on Sunday several points of its agenda among them the improvement of the working system of the organs of Popular Power.
In the Assembly of the Governing Body of the capital, which was also attended by Luis Antonio Torres Iribar, the first secretary of the Party in the city, it emerged that the city concluded 2018 with an overfulfillment of the business activity, and that among the programs that stand out due to its impact, there are vials, for which 189,772 tons of asphalt mix were available, although the figure only covers 54% of the needs for road repairs.
The city delegates received updated information on the process of recovery and reconstruction of the tornado affectations of last January 27, which highlights that the victims have been given substantial material resources for the repair of partially affected homes.
It was also known that 101 apartments will be delivered this Monday, while 240 families already know of their new residence locations, and other important works are carried out as part of the program for the 500th anniversary of the founding of the Villa de San Cristóbal de Havana.
The Provincial Assembly of the Popular Power knew of the great impact that the computerization and communications program has been that allowed the inauguration in the city of 25 Wi-Fi public spaces, for a total of 126, with scope to the 15 municipalities of the capital.
It also transpired in the habanera appointment that in 2018 there was an increase in Own-account Work. Currently there are 179,081 people working with 188,326 activities. Of the 266 non-agricultural cooperatives, 188 correspond to the Council of the Provincial Administration of which 83 belong to the gastronomy sector, 21 to services, 78 are agricultural and 6 transport markets. The rest belong to different Organisms of the Central State Administration.
