The patriot and archivist Joaquin Llaverias Martinez dies. He was a prominent writer, researcher and archivist. He dedicated 58 years of his life to the conservation and dissemination of stationery stored in the National Archive of Cuba. He was director of this institution and developed a tireless work in the training of archivists. He belonged to the Academy of the History of Cuba, of which he was permanent archivist and occasional director of his Annals. He was also a member, among other institutions, of the Folklore Society of Havana and the History Academies of the Dominican Republic and Uruguay.
