The XXII Edition of the International Food Agroindustrial Fair, FIAGROP 2019, will take place on March 24 at the Rancho Boyeros Fairgrounds, Havana, Cuba.

The Director of Promotion and Events of the exhibition venue, Ignacio Caraballo Barreto, reported that the meeting, dedicated to cattle farming, has the purpose of promoting the portfolio of foreign investment opportunities in the sector, attracting long-term financing and promoting rodeo as the sport of Cuban cattlemen.

He commented that on this occasion more than 20 exhibitors from a score of foreign delegations, including professional visitors and speakers, participate. Among the nations that stand out are Germany, Slovakia, Spain, United Kingdom, Mexico, Ukraine and Vietnam.

Also more than two thousand 150 copies of dairy cattle, buffaloes, equines, sheep, goats, pigs, cunículas and birds, of 85 exhibitors belonging to companies and cooperatives of Credits and Services and Agricultural Production of the whole country will be exhibited until Sunday 24 at the Rancho Boyeros fairground, the traditional venue of the event.

Conceived to raise the livestock and agri-food culture and academic exchange, the appointment reserves conferences and workshops that include topics such as the use of invasive plants to obtain biomass, and the presentation of scientific-technical service packages from research centers such as the Agroforestry and the Experimental Station of Pastures and Forages.

As part of the program, there will also be demonstration clinics about the management of the animal mass in relation to surgical and reproductive processes, Anchorrondas de negocios, exhibitions of technologies, equipment, machinery and implements of the productive process of the agro-industrial and food sector, as well as an exhibition of major and minor livestock, and poultry species.

The fair also offers a space for sports fans, with the celebration of 22 rodeo tops and riding competitions.

Fiagrop 2019 will have a sub-site at the Expocuba capital fairgrounds and will celebrate the 500th anniversary of Havana, Ciudad Maravilla, next November.
